The secrets of the cave in Tarragona




Tarragona. Costa Dorada. February 24th 2012. The 23 February 2012 saw the third session of the 5th Conference Series mountain in Tarragona Province, which this year is devoted to mountaineering, climbing and caving. The speleologist Almiñana Josep Lluis has been responsible for a lecture: "The Urban Cave of Tarragona, a city under Roman caving amazing." Born in Tarragona, Almiñana is vice president of the Cave Research Society of this city, and alternating the teaching of the Catalan School of Speleology with speleological activity. It is one of the pioneers of exploration in the Tarragona Urban Cave, discovered in 1996 and now follows the investigations of the cavity mode Espeleo-diving. It should be noted their activities in the cavities of the Tête Sauvage (Pierre Saint Martin), Solencio of Bastaras, System Alba T-1/Sta. Elena, mortars Astrana, Sumidero of Celagua, Garma Blind, Sima stormy, Morterón Salzoso del Hoyo, Gouuffre of Audiette and BU-56 (maximum depth global total), the chasm Mamelon (Mola of cation-Mont Caro). Entitled "The Mountain 3D", the 5th edition of the lecture on mountaineering extended until 1 March. This initiative, organized by the Province of Tarragona and the Alpine Club K2, has this year a total of four sessions, where experts mountaineers, climbers and cavers share their experiences with the public. The closure   The closing of the cycle will take place on Thursday, March 1, at 19.30, to shed No. 4 of the Port of Tarragona, with the world premiere of the documentary "Beyond Kumbhakarna" by mountaineer Oscar Cadiach, and reflects how the Nepalese sherpa Migma got crowned the 14 peaks over 8,000 meters. An exhibition complements the lectures As part of the 5th conference series of mountain, the Council presents photographic exhibition "Discovering the cave city of Tarragona", which can be seen in the courtyard of the Palau of the inter-institution until Sunday 26 February. This show is part of traveling exhibitions, a service Tarragona Province provides municipalities of the territory in order to decentralize and bring the exhibits throughout the province.
