During the
Christmas holidays, Salou features, among its street decorations, a
crochet Christmas tree which is, furthermore, the
tallest of its kind in Catalonia, standing at
10 meters high.
The tree is the work of 40 members of the
Salou Women's Group Association (Associació Grup de Dones de Salou), who have woven
1,500 crochet squares to create it. In addition, they have incorporated a
Salou flag, also crocheted, as a new feature for this Christmas season.
All the wool used is recycled and was donated by the City Council of Salou.
This unique Christmas decoration
is located in Plaça Bonet in Salou, where the tree lighting ceremony will take place on November 29, 2025, alongside complementary activities such as children's workshops and a popular hot chocolate event.
