Tarragona. Costa Dorada. The Government of the Generalitat de Tarragona City Council have organized an institutional act against gender violence during the commemoration of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against women on November, 25th 2009 (see agenda here). During the ceremony, representatives of associations of women Altafulla, Reus and Vila-seca will read the manifest opposition to male violence, signed by the Generalitat of Catalonia, Barcelona City Council, the Provincial Councils of Barcelona, Tarragona, Lleida and Girona, the Federation of Municipalities of Catalonia Catalan il'Associació of Municipalities and Regions. Later will be a minute's silence. The event will include the participation of government representative at the Camp de Tarragona, Xavier Sabaté, and regional coordinator of the Catalan Institute for Women (ICD) in Tarragona, Elizabeth Chambers, and the deputy mayor rating of Tarragona City Council and Coordinator of Services to Young, Victoria pilgrim. Also attending the regional directors of Justice, Ramon Gutierrez, Labor, Josep Maria Solanes, Interior, Institutional Relations and Participation, Hydrangea level; Environment and Housing, Robert Paul; Mijan Culture and Communication, Adam Manyé; Youth Jean Marc Segarra; Sports, Francesc Aguilo and Employment Service of Catalonia, Ramon Writing. In other populations will also read the manifesto and the minute of silence will be: • Barcelona - Sant Jaume Square (1.00pm) • High Pyrenees and Aran - Plaza de la Cruz, Tempera (5.30pm) • Girona - Plaça del Vi, Girona (12pm) • Lleida - Pilgrimage of St. James Square, Lleida (12.30pm) • Central Catalonia - Room Coll Bardolet building sugar, Vic (4.00pm) • Terres de l'Ebre - Conservatory of Music of the Provincial Tortosa (8.30pm) Also coinciding with International Day, the Minister of Justice, Montserrat Tura, give a lecture in the Hall of Sessions of the Council of Tarragona, entitled "Victim Support" on 25 November at 19 noon. Meanwhile, next Friday, November 27, President of the Catalan Institute for Women (ICD), Marta Selva, accompanied by the regional coordinator of the ICD, Elizabeth Chambers, and the regional coordinator for Youth, Jean-Marc Segarra, delivered the diploma course workshop "Cut with bad rolls" dedicated to the prevention of gender violence in the early love affairs. The closing will take place at the Government Office for 17 hours. Workshops and training network of agents for the prevention of abusive relationships promote mutual respect between the sexes and non-violent conflict resolution.
