Salou. Costa Dorada. 19 June 2017. Midsummer Eve 2017 in Salou and Flame of the Canigó

The shortest night of the year they lived intensely in Salou. Festive groups, an orchestra, night of verbena and up to 3 bonfires are the main events planned for the next Friday, June 23, Midsummer Eve 2017 in different areas of the city.

Every year thousands of villages across Catalonia light on bonfires of Saint George with the fire of the Flame of the Canigó. From the very top of the mountain, the flame is collected and begins a tour of the villages with a chain of reliefs, on foot, by bicycle, in car and fear. Other mitjans, Until arriving at super destination, the bonfires of each municipality.

This is a tradition driven by volunteers What do you want this flame to enlighten on peoples on this date as a symbol of persistence and Vitality of Catalan culture.

This 2017, Salou has prepared an extensive program of activities to commemorate this magical night. Check the complete program:


Program of events - Midsummer Eve 2017 in Salou:

On the Beach of Ponent - Espigó del Moll

From 9 am: Sports activities.
From 11 am to 1 pm: Children's activities.
From 13 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Electronic Vermouth

On the Autonomous Communities Square

At 9.30 pm: Arrival of the Flame of the Canigó, ignition of the pebetero and reading of the Message of Fire of Saint George. The heiresses and the heir of Salou are in charge of going to look for the llama in the municipality of Reus.

Whoever wants to collect it, will be deposited in the Plaza of the Autonomous Communities.

Next, there will be the performance of the Sardanista Contrapunt d'Onades Association jointly with the students of the curs de sardanes.

At 10.30 pm: Lighting of the 3 bonfires of Saint George and pyrotechnic show. The three bonfires will be lit by the festive elements of the municipalities: La Morena, Ball de Diables Maleïts, Bruges "Latemó" and the heirs and heir of Salou. All of them will take the flame to the different bonfires.

Bonfires:

• Beach of Llevant (Virgen del Pilar Street): Bonfire lit by the Morena of Salou.
• Beach of Llevant (Autonomous Communities Square): Bonfire lit by the heirs and by the heir of Salou.
• Beach of Ponent - Espigó del Moll: Bonfire lit by the Ball of Diables Maleïts and the Bruges of "Latemó" of Salou.

Then, the shows:

On the Autonomous Communities Square: Great night popular with the orchestra "La Fania".

On the Ponent Beach - Espigó del Moll: Young Party, with the performances of the groups Club del Río, La Terrasseta de Preixens, Locoplaya and to finish Dj sesion.
