The pedestrian passage to access the Cala de la Vinya de Salou has been remodeled

Salou. Costa Dorada. 19 June 2018. The mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, has inaugurated the remodeled passage for the pedestrians who access the Cala de la Vinya, in Salou, which links it to the street Punta de Cavall. It is a passage that has been named Pinatell. This action was used to carry out a reordering of the area, and various improvements, such as the one carried out in a nearby children's playground.

Granados wanted to highlight "the importance of ordering this area by widening the sidewalks and incorporating homogeneous continuity to the passage, while improving the access to the coves, so that they are more accessible." The mayor also states that "the area has also been the subject of conditioning and rehabilitation work, integrating and protecting the areas of native forest where it takes place, assuming a recovery action of a public green area for pedestrian use." The next step was added to what we inaugurated today, the 2 hectares of green area surrounding the Sant Jordi church to energize the area and recover the green spaces of Cape Salou as it is a large natural and scenic area to be had in account, and that in the future will be a large green park that will link the center of the urbanization of Cap Salou with the beaches.

The Town Planning Councilor, Marc Montagut, explained that "initially there was already a public step, in which small arrangements have been carried out for years, which made global action necessary".

The works have had a total budget of € 98,610.67, which has been allocated to the remodeling of the current step with the formation of new sections of stairs and the creation of a half-way landing to shorten the current single section. It has also been carried out the construction of an alternative road adapted through the forest mass that has been made in two different sections; On the one hand, a wooden bridge has been placed on the upper levels to save the ravine and it adapts to the terrain between the threshold of the Oromar building and Cala Font street; and the second stretch where it has developed between the park of Punta de Cavall Street and Cala Font Street, also adapting to the terrain. In addition, a pedestrian crossing between the two staircase sections of the pass has been adapted and some sections of the sidewalks have been extended to facilitate continuity and access to Cala del Pinatell, Cala Viña and Cala fuente.

These works consisted in the realization of a new paving, in the formation of stairs, among other tasks, and in the realization of a step adapted to the terrain with the aim of integrating it in the natural environment to avoid the two existing sections of stairs and an aggressive intervention with the environment.
