The procession and the castle of fires, high point of the Nits Daurades

In the fires 380 kg will be used of pyrotechnic material

Salou. Costa Dorada. 14 August 2018. The most awaited moment of the festivities of Salou, the Nits Daurades, will arrive on August 15 with the procession in honor of the Virgin and a monumental fireworks castle, hand in hand with Pirotécnia Mediterráneo. The image of the sailors carrying the religious image is one of the most emotional moments of the Saloueno festivities. On the other hand, the most spectacular will be the explosion of 380 kilos of pyrotechnic material that will delight the thousands of spectators who every year contemplate the sky illuminated by the luminous creations.
On the occasion of these acts, the Local Police will cut traffic on the Jaume I and Miramar walks. The vehicles will be directed by alternative itineraries.

With a more traditional character, the procession (20.45h) will take place in honor of the Virgin, who leaves on the shoulders of sailors and devotees from the church of Santa Maria del Mar with her usual route to the Moll's head to embark on the sea .

After the mass and procession, around 22.45 hours (Paseo Jaume I-Playa) will fire the castle of fires, whose duration is about twenty-three intense and forceful minutes, which triggers the pyrotechnics of the Mediterranean. The Councilor for Culture and Festivities, Mª José Rodríguez, explained that more than 379 kilos of regulated material will be launched in more than 5,000 units gathered in 42 spectacular groups divided into 6 different fire zones and with a total of 815 firing orders controlled by computer that will draw in the sky of the capital of the Costa Dorada the traditional palms, digitized choreographies or figures.

It is a pyrotechnic show of Valencian style, composed of different sections of aerial fire in which various effects of light, color and much powerful thunder are combined. Throughout the shot will combine 3 heights and each phase will be finished with colorful and hermetic closures. During 23 minutes, the intensity of the fire will increase to end with a bombardment of long and powerful thunder in the style of Valencia. Once the great fireworks castle is finished, the Juniors Orchestra will perform from the stage located in the Plaza of the Autonomous Communities.

A device with more than 100 people

As for the traffic and security device tomorrow, it is expected that a hundred people will be mobilized among the agents and patrols of the Local Police, to which must be added the Mossos as well as civil protection volunteers, firemen and ambulances and personnel of the brigade and private security to guarantee security in the area and coordinate traffic, as main points of information.

The Councilor for Citizen Security and Mobility, David Gonzalez, stressed that "this year the security device will be cut by cutting traffic both the Miramar and the Jaume I promenade to ensure the safety of the thousands of attendees moments before the procession, as well as during the closing of the party of the Nits Daurades with the launching of the castle of fires, being restored the traffic once the fires end ". In spite of the fact that you will not be able to circulate through these two walks, you will be able to use alternative itineraries that are duly marked.

The Emergency Coordination Center will be located in the Police Station of the same Jaume I Promenade. Its mission is the coordination of the personnel interacting during the development of the pyrotechnic spectacle to guarantee the safety of all the visitors, who must be located in the areas established for these.
