Councillors for Tourism in Cambrils, Salou, Reus and Vila-seca meet to plan next year



Cambrils. Costa Dorada. Councillors Tourism Cambrils, Salou and Vila-seca Cambrils Reus met today with the aim of promoting joint planning of next year and to continue their alliance. This is the seventh consecutive year in which the four municipalities and municipal park PortAventura agree joint actions and specific joint promotion. In addition to this specific alliance, these municipalities are also involved in the promotion of the Gold Coast which performs the Tourist Board of Tarragona. "We have always argued that the four municipalities are not competitive but are complementary, we have diversified offer to sell together, so that visitors have more variety of options which could offer in one town," said the Councillor for Tourism Cambrils. In the same vein, the alderman of Salou, Dams Benedict explained that "since the Alliance is promoting a major tourism product, four municipalities that are complemented perfectly by offering diverse and competitive." In addition, Dams has highlighted "the optimization of resources with imagination at a time when there is a clear lack of resources." Meanwhile, the first Deputy Mayor of Reus, Alicia Alegret, highlighted the commitment years ago that the city is doing for tourism. Alegret stressed the importance of the Gaudí Centre in Reus that has placed a map of cultural tourism as shown by the number of visitors in 2010 (66.026, a 13.8% despite the crisis) and billing (253 088 euros, 36.4%). According to First Deputy Mayor of Reus, Alicia Alegret, these figures have been achieved thanks to an alliance with tourism-Cambrils-Salou Vila-seca, La Pineda. "A strategic alliance," according to Alegret, "which on the one hand, we can play in the first division of tourism in this context how important it is to join forces in promoting and the other used to sell Gaudí Centre as a supplement to the offer of sun and sand of our Salou, Cambrils and La Pineda-Vilaseca.
