The Entombment, image of the Easter Tarragona



Tarragona. Costa Dorada. February 16, 2013. The Municipal Tourism Tarragona has released a total of 2,500 posters to promote the Easter Tarragona, along with the Association of Associations of Easter Tarragona (AASST). The purpose of the poster is to promote the events of Holy Week Tarragona, declared of National Tourist Interest by the Generalitat of Catalonia and especially to the Holy Burial Procession on Good Friday, an act also declared a Fiesta of National Interest the Government of Catalonia.   Poster design by Julian Joachim, who apart from being the President of the AASST has for many years been the designer of the poster. The visual impact of the sky dark colors denote the serious nature of a religious event that begins with the sunset. The step represented on this occasion is the Holy Burial, Guild Marejants. The scene belongs to the burial of Christ. Redeemer images surrounding the death of Nicodemus, Mary of Cleophas, the Virgin Mary, John, Joseph of Arimathea and Mary Magdalene. The chisel Canongi Salvador Martorell Oller in 1941. The guild get dressed with black tail and penitential scapular triangular blue, ruff and medal. The authors of the photographs are: Joaquim Julian Tower Archbishop Pere Amenós and the Entombment.   The poster will be distributed by the city's shops, hotels, tourist offices in the province of Catalonia and the rest of Spain and through social networks and the Web of Trust. The Municipal Tourism Tarragona is working on publishing bilingual guides published each year with the main events of Holy Week and will be presented soon.
