Tarragona Caixaforum presents the exhibition Hidden Spain




Tarragona. Costa Dorada. La Obra Social "la Caixa" has the Hidden Spain exposure. Photo of Cristina Garcia Rodero. Collection Arte Contemporáneo Fundación "la Caixa". The exhibition is organized by the Obra Social "la Caixa" and can be seen for the first time in CaixaForum Tarragona. The 75 photographs on exhibit belong to the Foundation Contemporary Art Collection "la Caixa", the Spanish institution which has a larger number of works in this series.   The photographs that make up Spain hidden. Collection Contemporary Art Foundation "la Caixa" were taken between 1975 and 1988, and have a valuable documentary, anthropological and artistic. So much for its quality and the original approximation of the beings García Rodero human passions and obsessions, related traditions, festivals and forms rural livelihoods. García Rodero captures this series, which is still open, a Spain profound traditional disappearing, the Spain of the people that the artist has known travel and living it. Cristina Garcia Rodero (Puertollano, Ciudad Real, 1949) has received numerous awards, including the National Photography Prize (1996), the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts (2005) and the prize FotoPres granted by the Fundación "la Caixa" (second prize in the editing 1997). He has combined his teaching with the creation and photographic collaboration in several Spanish and foreign journals. It is the Spanish who first started working in the photojournalistic agency Magnum.
