Vandellòs holds this Sunday the Feast of the Olive




Vandellòs. Costa Dorada. January 9, 2013. The Board of Agricultural Cooperative Vandellòs organized for Sunday 13 January, the Feast of the Olive IX, with the collaboration of the City of Vandellòs Hospitalet de l'Infant, Cultural Center, Sports Recreational and Vandellòs (CCERV) and the Group of Bowling Vandellòs. The festival, which aims to introduce new olive oil produced by the cooperative will begin at 9 am, with competition garlic and continue half an hour later, a popular breakfast where, besides tasting oil cooperative, participants may eat toast, sausage, bacon, herring, roasted hazelnuts, tangerines, and drinking red wine and water. The ticket price is 3 euros. After breakfast also will flip open bowling (around 11 am). And during that day gastronomic interested in buying the oil Agrobotiga can do from 9 to 13 hours. The presence of traditional varieties of olive Salivenca Regus and also the Arbequina oil obtained Vandellòs fruity extra virgin in shades of green, flawless, stable, a greater presence of polyphenols, which makes last longer in the cooking and does not become rancid as easily as oil arbequina and is also the most delicious eaten raw. This season Vandellòs Agricultural Cooperative has produced a total of 20,803 liters of oil, of which 7,744 Agrobotiga sold in liters. The rest will go to the producers themselves.
