Arena: vermouth, tapas and rice dishes on the Salou promenade

Arena, long hours in the kitchen

Salou. Costa Dorada. 07 May 2022. With the spring and the start of the tourist season, the Arena has reopened its doors to offer its quality Mediterranean cuisine in the nerve center of Salou: the Jaume I promenade, facing the sea, although at a sufficient distance away from the hustle and bustle of traffic and people and allows you to enjoy a certain tranquility.

From this privileged location, the Arena offers its customers a cozy and pleasant terrace where they can enjoy the restaurant's vermouth, tapas and rice dishes, or a spacious, bright and informal interior that invites them to taste the establishment's menu.

Apart from its fantastic location and Mediterranean decoration, the Arena has other characteristics that increase its appeal when it comes to being the chosen restaurant to go to eat or simply take a break and refuel.

These features are:

  • the opening hours of the kitchen: very long. The Arena doesn't close the kitchen, so if you're hungry, thirsty or both “after hours” don't worry. The Arena can meet these needs from 12:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. from March to October and, in the high season months (at the height of summer), the hours are extended from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • its culinary offer: the Arena is a tapas restaurant, snacks, but also ideal for eating good rice, tasty meat or tasty fish without forgetting some sweet desserts, or to combine the different possibilities. The base of the dishes is based on genuine Mediterranean cuisine, with quality and local products, such as the delicious extra virgin olive oil of the Arbequina variety, produced by La Boella, 12 kilometers from Salou.
  • vermouth: ideal to whet your appetite thanks to the Arena proposal, which offers a menu of quality vermouths from the vermouth capital of the world: Reus (just 13 kilometers from Salou). The Yzaguirre, Fot-li or De Muller (Iris or Gran Reserva) brands can be accompanied by traditional homemade potato chips, olives, salted fish (boquerón in vinegar or anchovy) and preserves such as pickled mussels, cockles or tuna belly. Aren't you starting to get hungry?
  • drinks menu: wide and varied to satisfy the needs of your clientele throughout the day. From the aforementioned vermouth, through beer, juices, or liqueurs and mixed drinks, as well as coffees. The wines and cavas all come from appellations of origin in the area (Conca de Barberà, Montsant, Priorat, Tarragona, Terra Alta, Catalunya), although they are also offered from the Penedès and Empordà appellations of origin, and from outside Catalonia from the DO Rioja, Rías Baixas and Rueda.
  • dinner and show: if you go to dinner at the Arena you will have the pleasant surprise of enjoying a show for the same price, depending on the day of the week you go. It can be live music or a monologue, always from a repertoire of different artists. On the social networks of the Arena you will find the program of shows and activities.

For all this, the Arena tapas&restaurant is a good gastronomic choice in Salou, and we hope you enjoy it.

What else is there to know about the Arena?

The Arena is also the restaurant of the Blaumar hotel, a four-star hotel specializing in families, with spacious rooms, all with a terrace and a small kitchen. The Blaumar also has various awards and quality certifications for the environmental measures it adopts, sustainable and committed to protecting the planet.

Both establishments, the Arena and the Blaumar hotel, belong to the Reside Group, a hotel chain that has managed and operated hotels, apartments and restaurants, located mainly in Salou and Tarragona, for more than 30 years.
