Cambrils. Costa Dorada. 25 May 2022. The rice revolution has come to Cambrils with the inauguration of Roce, a casual rice gastronomic proposal with a “rogue” touch, located in a versatile place on Calle de Sant Pere, number 11. The ideologues of Roce are four partners: Gaspar Caparó, Iban Jerez, Nil Ferran and Jordi Segura. Young professionals with entrepreneurial DNA, who already know what it means to be successful in the area, where just a year ago they launched a gastro project, such as the Instint restaurant, next to El Roce.

Located in the premises that had been occupied by the El Faro restaurant for four decades, and after a thorough renovation carried out in just over thirty days, the new Roce restaurant has capacity for 44 people inside and another 40 on the outside terrace. “In a year with the reform of Rambla Jaume I in Cambrils, our side street will be pedestrianized, which will allow us to double the number of boards. We are very satisfied with how we have renovated the premises, with the interior design and design that we have given it. We invite people to visit us, we are very excited and we believe that our gastronomic proposal will attract. We are faithful to our motto of 'Our body asks for friction, and yours?' explains Iban Jerez.

At the helm of the kitchens at Roce is Gaspar Caparó, a chef born in Alcover, trained at the Basque Culinary Center in San Sebastián and who defines the meaning of cooking at El Roce as "Cambrils is growing in the gastro-professional field and that has motivated me to start this professional challenge. We at El Roce seek to provide the customer with an experience in which we want to promote good rice dishes, with an offer of tapas and with a philosophy of sharing it at the table », he explains.

Caparó adds that “we work with very good products to offer rice of all kinds, vegetables, with truffle, rice with meat, fish such as shrimp or lobster. We like to work it well and after a few weeks of filming once we opened, now we have already got the point of rice, in aspects as important as cooking or salt. From Roce we also want to greatly promote take away and home delivery rice, thus allowing the customer to savor it at home with the highest quality.

The establishment has a lunch menu, the Roce by day, at a price of 25 euros and the Roce by night, configured with a tapas menu. The value for money is very well balanced, as well as the wine list, very well selected with references from the Codorniu group, with which they have begun to work, as well as Rioja, Ribera del Duero and other selections of wines from appellations of origin Catalans.

The restaurant is open seven days a week. From Monday to Friday the hours are from 12:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 8:00 p.m. to midnight. The weekend opens uninterruptedly until 1 in the morning.
