Salouween contributes to a high tourist occupation in Salou during the November 1 bridge

The tourist occupation in Salou during the last long weekend of November 1 has been greatly reinforced with the second call for Salouween, an initiative promoted by the Salou town council that combines music, gastronomy, a terrifying atmosphere and various calls and animations on the occasion of the festivity of All Saints or 'halloween'.

In Salou this celebration has become popular as 'Salouween' and over the weekend has included passages of terror in the Masía Catalana, a zombie parade, the 'Salouween Street Festival' on Paseo Jaume I, the theatrical performance Panico 13, which premiered last day 1 at the Teatre Auditori de Salou (TAS), as well as a party on October 31 with the typical desserts of this time: chestnuts and 'panellets'. The tourist train was also set with terrifying decoration and with the reasons for these dates. On the other hand, it should be noted that in Salou the celebration of 'Salouween' is directly linked to the Fiesta Mayor on October 30 or Fiesta de la Segregación, which commemorates the segregation of Salou from the municipality of Vilaseca, in such a way that the festive atmosphere was maintained in Salou from Thursday 27th, with the opening speech of the festival and throughout a long weekend that ended on Tuesday 1st November.

In this context, and according to data from the Municipal Tourist Board of Salou, 45 tourist establishments have remained open and have registered occupancy figures of around 90% and even in some cases full occupancy has been reached, with an average figure 81.7%.

During the month of October Salou hosted the Rally Catalunya Costa Daurada between the 20th and 23rd and this month has culminated with the Fiesta Mayor on October 30th and with the celebration of 'Salouween' and all this with a pleasant climate and with temperatures above those that should be usual for this time.

The origin of the tourists who have visited Salou during the bridge is mainly local, Catalan and state, along with French tourists, a market that during these dates is available to travel.

The mayor of Salou and president of the Municipal Tourist Board, Pere Granados, has positively valued the occupancy figures that have been registered and considers the measures adopted in recent years to extend the tourist season 'a success', an objective that has the collaboration of both the institutional sectors and the private sector.
