The XII Living Nativity of the Masia de Castellón beats its record of visitors

L'Hospitalet de l'Infant. Costa Dorada. The organizers of the Living Nativity Masia Castellón had a very positive today, Monday the twelfth edition of this traditional staging, which has returned to life in this village in the municipality of Vandellos and Hospitalet de l'Infant which remained uninhabited for 50 years. And, according to sources, the Association of Masia Castellón (the entity that is organized under the patronage of the Municipality), in only 2 days (yesterday, Sunday 27 December and 3 January) were received 3600 visitors. This figure is a record of participation, given that the crib had to be uninstalled on December 26 due to rain and that the average persons who have passed in previous years, when the representation has been open for 3 days, is 3,200 people. 'This year, certainly it has surpassed its forecasts, " stated the organizers, noting that all the Nativity on December 27 hosted 1950 people, and on January 3, 1650 (until now the average daily visitors reached 1.200). All these people were able to see over thirty scenes set in mid-twentieth century, a large sample of old trades (carpenter, mattress, saddlery, baskets, mason, baker, breaker of hazelnuts, etc.). and stable animals. In addition, after the visit, they ate a grilled sausage with toasted bread and wine (this was included in the price of entry: 7 euros for adults and 4 euros for children between 3 and 9 years). The XII Living Nativity has had the participation of about 300 co-workers, of which 250 have performed. Most of these people come from Vandellòs Hospitalet de l'Infant, although there are also the surrounding towns, for example Rasquera and Capçanes. Indeed, one of the objectives of the entity that organizes Masia Association of Castellon, sponsored by the City Council, is to involve citizens in its historical and architectural restoration project of the Masia. Please note that the year when the association was founded in 1997, this village was a place inaccessible due to its advanced state of deterioration. Currently, almost 100% of sites are retrieved, the paths are enabled and the houses of stone wall recovered. This has been possible thanks to the efforts that have developed over the years members of the organization, which has a hundred members, twenty of whom are active partners, and to economic resources and material supplied by the council.
