Culture opts for open-air opera with the show "Liceu a la fresca"

The opera can be seen from the Levante beach



Salou. Costa Dorada. 15 June 2018. The Plaza de las Comunitats Autònomes de Salou will become, at ten o'clock in the evening of Saturday, a theater theater with the screening of the opera "Manon Lescaut", by Giaccomo Puccini. The initiative is part of the Department of Culture of the City of Salou and is included in the show "Liceu a la fresca". The work will be performed simultaneously in the Gran Teatre del Liceu. The function will be recorded and broadcast by channel 33 of Television of Catalonia and will also be broadcast simultaneously on the large screen that the City Council will install on the Levante Beach, at the height of the Plaza of the Autonomous Communities. The realization of this activity is free for all to enjoy.

In 2016 it was the first time that the City Council joined this project conscious of promoting and promoting culture and with the opportunity to expand and disseminate the operatic and musical activity through the broadcasting of a quality opera. The councilor of the area, María José Rodríguez, stressed that "we are aware of the importance and growing generalization of artistic activities and culture," adding that "as this activity had a great reception and success, from the Department of Culture we want to bet on this third edition of the 'Liceo al fresco', in order to get the opera to all citizens of the municipality who are interested, for free.

The Liceo is a Catalan private foundation of a cultural nature and its main purpose is the promotion and execution of all those initiatives that revert to the promotion and enhancement of operatic musical culture throughout the territory of Catalonia. In 2007, the Liceo began the "Liceo en la playa" project, which consisted of projecting the opera that was representing the Liceo that same night on a large screen located on the Barceloneta beach. After the success obtained, the Liceo wanted to extend this initiative to other places in Catalonia to make the opera available to everyone, without economic or geographic limitations.
