Salou adds the Golf Brand to its quality labels for Sports and Family Tourism

Lumine Golf Club, 170 hectares and 45 holes

Improving the quality of its tourism offer is a primary objective for the City Council and for the Salou Tourism Board, and for this reason this year they have added the Marca Golf label to those that it already had as a Sports Tourism and Family Tourism Destination.
The new badge has been achieved thanks to the collaboration with Lumine Golf Club, which brings together 3 golf courses in the surroundings of PortAventura World Parks & Resort. To get the Golf Brand, there must also be a specialized offer of accommodation, services, specialized receptive agencies and specific tourism promotion actions with specific actions and dissemination materials (catalog / brochure, information on the web, etc.).
Lumine has 3 golf courses, with a total of 170 hectares and 45 holes:
  • the Camp Hills with spectacular views near Cap de Salou. It is designed by Green Project and has 18 holes, par 72 and various services.
  • The Camp Lakes designed by Greg Norman is located around the wet area of ​​the Sèquia Major, a space of Natural interest. It also has 18 holes, par 71 and various services.
  • Camp Ruins preserves olive and carob trees from the original terrain, close to Roman remains from the 2nd century BC. It is a fairly flat course, also designed by Greg Norman, with 9 holes and a par 34.
This sports offer is complemented by the Lumine Beach Club, a landscaped pool area next to the sea and with direct access to the beach.

Salou #livesports

The promotion of sports tourism in the capital of the Costa Dorada has allowed the creation of the Salou #livesports brand, which brings together the sports offer of the municipality from the certification in Sports Tourism of the Agència Catalana de Turisme. The seal was obtained in the modality of soccer, in 2013, thanks to the public-private collaboration with the Sports Complex Fútbol Salou. In 2016, the certification was extended to the light sailing modality in collaboration with the Club Nàutic de Salou, and in 2018 the recognition was achieved in the bicycle touring modality.

In addition to sports facilities, the brand includes the 13 establishments specialized in housing athletes and the municipality's natural resources, including the 2 sea lanes that Salou has been offering for 3 years, with guided activities such as diving or swimming .

Finally, we must highlight the sports competitions that choose Salou as the epicenter. This is the case of the RallyRACC Catalunya-Costa Daurada or the Challenge Salou.


The presentation of the Golf Brand was attended by the mayor and president of the Tourist Board of Salou, Pere Granados, accompanied by the director of the Territorial Services of Business and Coneixement of the Generalitat de Catalunya in Tarragona, Carme Mansilla, and the director of Lumine Golf Club, Agustín García Pascual.

In his interventions, the mayor has described Salou's golf offer as a product of excellence, while the director of the Lumine Golf Club has highlighted the collaboration with the City of Salou. For its part, the representative of Empresa i Coneixement has recognized the good work of the City of Salou to get these tourist quality stamps.
