Salou opens a Police Station Beach in the Jaume I promenade

The Beach Police Station will have 17 agents



Salou. Costa Dorada. 05 June 2017. For the 11th consecutive year, the City of Salou opens the Beach Police Station on Paseo Jaume I, next to the Plaza of the Autonomous Communities, next to the main base of Rescue and Rescue. The objective is to offer a better assistance and give a closer attention to the people who visit the municipality during the summer and, for this reason, the police station is located in the tourist area par excellence and the one that concentrates more visitors.

The 17 Local Police officers who cover the service speak at least two languages ​​and offer information and assistance in the processing of complaints, in coordination with the Mossos d'Esquadra, every day from 10 am to 8 pm. In addition, the owners of the beach bars are also connected to the Beach Police Station via a walkie-talkie to be able to make any notice of incidence on the beach.

This year also has been in intercom service, operative 24 hours, that connects with the switchboard of the Local Police, in case of being closed the Beach Police Station.

The agents that give service in this police station of Salou move by all the beach zone on foot, in quad, bicycle or electric vehicle. They reach about 6,000 kilometers and perform 4,000 assists during the 4 months of high season (data recorded in 2016).

This beach police station opens through San Juan and closes on September 30, and complements a beach service area that also offers daycare and gymnasium, as well as various sports areas along the whole promenade that runs parallel to the beach.

With the intention of improving the services of information and attention to the visitor, identification bracelets will be given to the minors, in coordination with the Tourism Patronate.

During the opening presentation of the beach police center the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, wanted to point out that "one more year, we want to offer greater security of proximity for both Salou and visitors, providing a complementary service on the beaches Township". To these statements, Councilor for Security and Mobility, David González, wanted to add that "there will be 17 staff between beach agents and mobility with bicycles that will ensure the smooth operation of the service by providing a fast and resolute proximity police" .
