Salou. Costa Dorada. 04 May 2014. Salou is Catalan tourist destination which recorded a higher rate of  tourist occupancy during 2013, only behind Barcelona, and clearly  distanced from Lloret, the town that ranks third in this ranking.
The leading position of Salou, Costa Dorada capital, has been  confirmed after knowing the funds raised in 2013 by the city tax, a tax  that was implemented in 2013.
Barcelona is the destination that has raised more from the new  tax, while Salou receive 872.257 euros, 100,000 euros more than  third-placed town.
Salou Tourist Promotion
The  money obtained from the collection of the City tax will be mainly for  promotion because the Salou Tourist Board has designed a plan to  increase this year in the presence of Salou tourism fairs, an increase  of more than 77% of actions taken in the previous year.
Both  Councillor for Tourism of Salou, Benet Presas, as mayor, Pere  Granados, have highly valued the results achieved by the municipality as  clearly leads Salou tourism in Catalonia and belongs to the choicest  destinations from the group Spanish destinations.
