Joaquim Icart exposes My Land, its friends, in the Diputació



Tarragona. Costa Dorada. 1st June 2012. The Palau de Tarragona Province is home to 24 June pictorial exhibition "My Land, My Friends," Icart Joaquin Garcia (Tarragona, 1943). Through his paintings, mostly landscapes and portraits, the artist pays homage to its direct environment: land and people around you.This was highlighted during the opening ceremony of the exhibition, which took place yesterday evening and was chaired by First Deputy Chairman of Tarragona Province, Albert Vallvé. Many people were gathered in the courtyard of the Palau Council to stand by the artist Tarragona.In relation to the exhibition, Joaquim Icart said that "the time has come to praise the land that has been born."    Santa Creu, Delta de l´Ebre are just some of the scenery to be found in the sample. According to the artist, these works "are the result of visual dialogue, sincere, simple and straightforward with my surroundings," and "a sign of affection that I have to Tarragona and the landscapes and colors of this land."Moreover, exposure of Icart (which includes a total of 27 paintings and sculptures 2) closer to family and friends visited portraits of the artist, some very well known by the public, as the writer Olga Xirinacs, Pianist Anna Cazurra or humanist historian Ma Antonia Ferré, "people who have great affection and admiration," he said.The First Deputy Chairman of the Council, Albert Vallvé, adding that it is "an impressive show, which explains itself," Icart and congratulated for the quality of their work, ensuring that it is a " great painter.   "Icart Joaquin Garcia studied at the Art Workshop School of Tarragona Province, the Provincial Conservatory and the School of Fine Arts in St. George, in Barcelona. He has taught art and music at the University of Barcelona and the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. In 2005 he was elected academic Tarragona Catalan Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi, Barcelona.
