Salou lights up a crocheted Christmas tree
Salou has joined the crochet trend this Christmas and has released a Christmas tree made of 300 colorful squares covering a 3.20 meter high iron structure. The initiative has been made possible thanks to the association Grup de Dones de Salou, which has had the collaboration of the City Council and several merchants in the area.
Music and colour at the Christmas lights switch-on

Tourist train of Salou
One of the tourist attractions in Salou is the 'trenet' or tourist train, a train that transits through the main attractions of the capital of the Costa Dorada.
The tourist train offers one route in winter only in the morning and, in summer, two routes with different stops that allow to enjoy the coastal landscape of Salou and to discover the buildings and the most emblematic places of the municipality. Prices and schedule here.
What to do today in Salou. Visit the outdoor leatherback turtle exhibit
Salou is committed to art and culture and that is why every summer it opens an open-air exhibition on Paseo Jaume I. This 2024 the proposal is a unique exhibition of 10 sculptures that reproduce leatherback turtles that, in turn, have been decorated by many other painters and illustrators. It can be visited until September 30.
Salou commemorates its history by recovering its Population Charter of 1194
Salou has a long history, not only because of the Iberian remains (town of La Cella) or Romans (villa de Barenys) that can be visited but also because it has Population Charter since 1194. No less than 830 years since King Alfonso II of Aragon granted this founding document and that is why Salou has remembered this anniversary with various acts.
