El nombre de pernoctacions en establiments de Salou durant aquest any 2018 comptabilitza ia les 7.803.648, una xifra que s'ha reduït en un 0,6%, comparant les xifres amb el mateix període de l'any passat. Els espanyols, anglesos, francesos, russos i irlandesos són els que més visiten la capital de la Costa Daurada, on s'incideix en la promoció d'una destinació de sol, platja i família dins de Catalunya. Pel que fa al nombre de pernoctacions que es van dur a terme en 2016 el descens és de més d'un 6%, ja que 2016 va ser un any rècord en turisme.
Inversió de 3,2 milions d'euros per millorar els carrers i espais públics
L'Ajuntament de Salou realitzarà una important inversió, de fins a 3,2 milions d'euros, destinada a la millora dels carrers i espais públics. Per a això, s'ha dividit el municipi en set zones d'actuació, on es destinaran 2 ME i a partir de gener es destinaran 1,1 ME a la millora dels carrers del Terrer, Louis Braille i la zona del carrer Burguera. A més, s'ha tret a licitació el projecte de l'avinguda Carles Buigas, on es destinaran altres 3 ME.
L'Ajuntament rebutja la violència contra la dona mitjançant diferents activitats
Salou ha mostrat la seva repulsa cap a la violència contra la dona mitjançant un seguit d'actes amb motiu del Dia Internacional per a l'Eliminació de la Violència cap a les Dones. Entre aquests, es troba un taller de defensa personal contra la violència masclista que es durà a terme el proper 2 de desembre. Aquesta iniciativa, organitzada pel Servei d'Informació i Assessorament a les Dones (SIAD) de l'Ajuntament, forma part del II Pla Local d'Igualtat adreçat a la ciutadania de 2015-2019 i pretén fomentar la igualtat de gènere i conscienciar la societat per reduir els actes de violència masclista.
Salou mostra la seva cara més tradicional amb el Concurs de pesca del Calamar
La Festa del Calamar s'ha convertit en una tradició de llarg recorregut, com ho demostren els 44 anys que porta celebrant-se a la capital de la Costa Daurada. Part important d'aquests dies festius (del 23 de novembre fins a l'1 de desembre) el constitueix el concurs de pesca relacionat amb aquest saborós mol·lusc. Així que el proper dilluns 26 de novembre es dóna el tret de sortida als aficionats del món de la pesca del municipi al voltant d’aquesta trobada que organitza la Regidoria de Cultura de l’Ajuntament de Salou amb la col·laboració del Club Nàutic del municipi.
Pla per millorar les dutxes de la platja de Ponent
L'Ajuntament de Salou millorarà cinc de les 11 dutxes que actualment hi ha a la platja de Ponent. Per a això, destinarà 105.000 euros que aniran destinats a la millora i renovació de les plataformes. El problema que afecta a aquestes estructures sol ser l'acumulació de la sorra, que forma dunes que impedeixen la sortida de l'aigua.
