Lifeguards and Beach Police Station: security devices are in place for a quiet summer

Personnel of the Salou Rescue and First Aid Service

Salou. Costa Dorada. 16 June 2022. Salou already has the security devices in place to guarantee a peaceful summer vacation for visitors, tourists and residents. On the one hand, the Rescue and First Aid Service is already fully deployed and the Beach Police Station is also operational.

The Rescue and First Aid Service is run by the Servitur company and has 25 people who are distributed throughout all the beaches of Salou until September 30, when this service will stop working on all the beaches except the Llevant beach, where lifeguards will be until October 15.

The hours of the rescue and lifeguard service are from 10 am to 7 pm, in high season; and, from September, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

For its part, in Cala Crancs and Cala Font the service will only open from July 1 to August 30, and in Cala Crancs the hours will be from 11am to 7pm.

It must also be taken into account that there will be surveillance rounds, although more intensive, in:
  • Cala Llenguadets
  • Cala Font
  • Cala Vinya
  • Cala Penya Tallada
It should also be remembered that the Rescue and First Aid Service includes a surface rescue drone, which offers more precision when reaching the victim. The drone can carry out its lifesaving function whether the victim is conscious in the water or a passive victim.

Beach Police Station
For its part, the Beach Police Station located next to the Plaza de las Comunidades Autónomas is open from the beginning of June from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. It has a staff of 7 interim reinforcement agents, 9 staff and 2 corporals. Agents use bicycles and an electric vehicle to get around.

The local police officers resolve any incident that may be presented to the public, including the processing of complaints. There is also a close collaboration between the agents and the beach bars.

The mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, has highlighted the positive assessment that residents and visitors make of both the Lifeguard Service and the Beach Police Station, basic services when summer arrives in Salou to make the stay of tourists more comfortable and safer and visitors.
