Three arrested for hitting and robbing a Salou taxi driver

Salou. Costa Dorada. 14 March 2018. Agents from the Local Police in Salou and the Mossos d'Esquadra managed to locate and arrest three men who were allegedly assaulted and rob a taxi driver on the night of Thursday, March 8. While a municipal police patrol arrested two of the people involved on the same day that the events took place, the Mossos detained the third author the following day, Friday. The detainees are 19, 25, and 26 years old, of Spanish nationality and residents of Reus and are considered as presumed perpetrators of a crime of robbery with violence, injuries and damages.

The events took place from Thursday to Friday last week, when a taxi driver who was in service received a call to go to a group of people in the Brussels street of Salou. When the taxi driver arrived at the site he picked up a group of four people and asked them to pay the race in advance. Then, the individuals began to knock him out while the driver was in the driver's seat. Then, these individuals also kicked them from the outside of the car.

After a few moments, the taxi driver could flee the place with the vehicle and called the police. Then, the man realized that his aggressors had also removed two mobile phones that he had inside the cab.

Quickly, several Salou Local Police patrols went to the site of the facts and, with the description of the authors, they located three people in the street Josep Carner who agreed with the individuals. Through various procedures, police officers verified that two of the three localized individuals were related to the aggression.

Later, in the scaffold that the young men did to the man of 26 years before entering the garjoles, they found one of the two mobile phones that he had hidden.

Agents of the police who took charge of the investigation stopped hours after a third man, of 19 years, related to the aggression.

Of the three detainees, 25- and 26-year-old men spent Saturday on trial at the Tarragona Statutory Judge and the judge decreed their entrance to prison. As for the 19-year-old man, he was released after declaring to the police station and being summoned as investigator for the trial held on Saturday.

The Salou Local Police arrested two of the alleged perpetrators minutes after the aggression and the Mossos d'Esquadra arrested the third party implicated in the events the following afternoon.
