Christmas lights in Salou
Salou has switched on its Christmas lights and unveiled a new Christmas tree, which has a more natural appearance than in previous years and is taller, reaching 12 meters in height. Additionally, the City Council has extended the Christmas lighting throughout the entire municipality and reinforced it in the main commercial hub of the Costa Dorada capital.
Salou Capital of Catalan Culture: program of events

A grand inaugural gala of Salou Capital of Catalan Culture 2025
A grand gala at the Teatre Auditori de Salou (TAS), in front of around 500 people, was the starting point for Salou Capital of Catalan Culture 2025, a designation that will allow the municipality to assert itself as the great capital of culture in capital letters of Catalonia for twelve months, beyond being the capital of tourism and holidays in the country.
Ramon Pellicer, from TV3, will present the opening gala of Salou Capital of Catalan Culture
The journalist and presenter of TV3's Telenotícies weekend, Ramon Pellicer, will be in charge of presenting the grand opening gala that Salou City Council is preparing to officially start the events of Salou Capital of Catalan Culture 2025. The programme of activities for the entire year will be announced on 27 February.
Music and colour at the Christmas lights switch-on
The Christmas lights switch-on is always a good time to enjoy Salou with the family, thanks to the music and colour show organised by the Town Hall. The chosen location is the central roundabout at the intersection of Barcelona Street and Via Roma, where a splendid 12-metre-high tree is installed, all made of LED lights, and crowned by a large star.

From January 26 to February 5, 2024, Salou is experiencing an intense Winter Festival with the novelty of the change of location of the Coso Blanco, the central and most representative event of the festival, which moves to Passeig Jaume I. More 70 events including concerts, music, theater, exhibitions, and children's and traditional activities to enjoy the Salou Winter Festival.

La cantata Tralala i el globus vermell, que s'interpretarà al Teatre Auditori de Salou a les 15,20 hores d'avui, dimarts, serà el punt de partida de la celebració de Nadal i Reis a Salou, que té prevista una trentena d'actes per a les pròximes setmanes. Diumenge, 16 de desembre, Pere Granados -alcalde de la localitat- felicitarà als salouencs en un acte en el qual es podrà gaudir del ja tradicional brou nadalenc que s'ofereix a la Masia Catalana.
Una trentena d'activitats omplen el programa de la Festa Major d'octubre
Salou tornarà a estar de festa aquesta setmana vinent, quan se celebra la Festa Major del 30 d'octubre, tot i que els actes comencen ja el dissabte 20. Un dels actes més simbòlics de la festa és el Pregó, que aquest any anirà a càrrec de Josep Abelló Padró, exalcalde de Reus i que va ocupar aquest càrrec del 1985 a 1999. Dins de les celebracions, també destaquen el 15è aniversari del Ball de Bastons. Aquesta efemèride servirà també per presentar el vestuari de nit-gal·la del grup, a més d'altres activitats.

Més de quaranta actes ompliran l'agenda que ha preparat l'Ajuntament de Salou per les setmanes vinents, quan arribarà el Nadal. L'extens programa nadalenc inclou actes tradicionals, culturals, festius i lúdics per totes les edats.
El tret de sortida s'ha donat aquest dijous amb un concert de nadales que han comptat amb la participació de les escoles del municipi. L'acte ha tingut com a escenari el Teatre Auditori de Salou.
