Salou, leader in 2025 with 2.4 million visitors and 8.6 million overnight stays
Salou has done it again and has closed 2025 with record figures that consolidate the municipality as the leading destination of the Costa Dorada and one of the most important in Catalonia and Spain. Specifically, more than 2.4 million visits chose Salou for their holidays in 2025, 4.78% more than in 2024, and more than 8.6 million overnight stays were recorded, 4.21% more than the previous year.

", the new tourist product that affects the millenary history of the capital of the Costa Dorada. The project will soon be completed with the future Neolithic Route, which is already being developed, to point out loud and clear that Salou is much more than a sun and beach destination.
Salou prepares with the Generalitat the devices for the total eclipse of the sun
The City Council of Salou and the Generalitat de Catalunya are preparing the devices to facilitate and ensure the observation of the total solar eclipse of August 12, 2026 by all people who want to live this astronomical phenomenon, which has not occurred in Catalonia for 121 years. The eclipse also coincides with the summer festival of Salou, the Golden Nights.
More than 55,000 people in the Cos Blanc
The Cos Blanc de Salou 2026 has once again shown that it is the best outdoor party on the Costa Dorada and, possibly, Catalonia. More than 55,000 people according to the City Council gathered on Paseo Jaume I to enjoy the great show of light, sound, music, good atmosphere, and a large parade with 28 carretels and almost 7,000 people disguised participating directly in the parade.
Salou Sport: the New Benchmark for Sports Tourism in the Mediterranean

Salou Sport brand, launched by the Salou Municipal Tourism Board, has been established to consolidate the municipality as the leading sports destination in the Mediterranean. This strategic positioning is built upon three pillars: elite infrastructure, a privileged climate, and an extensive calendar featuring more than 200 annual sporting events. The objective: to deseasonalize tourism and promote sustainable economic activity 365 days a year.
Salou has the first smart pool in Catalonia of the EPIC network
The municipal swimming pool of Salou has released an advanced system of intelligent sensors that allows to monitor in real time the activity of the swimmers, reinforce the safety and the experience of the users, and make a more efficient management of the equipment. With this technology, Salou is the first municipality in Catalonia that integrates its pool in the Spanish Network of Connected Smart Swimming Pools (EPIC).
On 17 and 18 July 2026, the Festiuet arrives
After the success of last year, with 31,000 attendees, Salou returns to host the Festiuet on July 17 and 18, 2026, a music festival with the most successful groups of Catalan music and spanish pop in recent years such as La Gossa Sorda, Leire Martinez, La Fúmiga, Figa Flawas, The Tyets, Ginestà, Els Pets, Buhos or Lax'n'Bust, among others.

Enjoy vermouth in Salou for Christmas
Until December 23, from 12 to 3 pm, you can taste the best vermouths in the joint initiative between the Associació d’Empresaris d’Hostaleria (AEH) of Salou and the City Council of the capital of the Costa Daurada. Up to 19 establishments are participating in the “Fem el vermut a Salou” action, which for 6 euros offers to enjoy vermouth accompanied by a gastronomic tasting.
Salou commemorates the 60th anniversary of the monument to Jaume I
This year 2025 it is 60 years since the monument to Jaume I was inaugurated, a sculptural ensemble 12 meters long and 20 meters high, located on the promenade of the same name and symbol of Salou. To commemorate this date and the importance of this work for the capital of the Costa Dorada, the City of Salou has prepared several events.

The highest crochet Christmas tree in Catalonia is in Salou
During all the Christmas holidays, Salou has among the decoration of its streets a Christmas tree made with hook, which, in addition, is the highest in Catalonia of this style with 10 meters high. The Group of Women of Salou has woven for a year 1,500 hook knit paintings to raise this unique Christmas decoration.

Salou has switched on its Christmas lights and unveiled a new Christmas tree, which has a more natural appearance than in previous years and is taller, reaching 12 meters in height. Additionally, the City Council has extended the Christmas lighting throughout the entire municipality and reinforced it in the main commercial hub of the Costa Dorada capital.
Squid, star dish in 12 restaurants in Salou
A total of 12 restaurants in Salou participate in a new edition of the Squid Gastronomic Days, entitled "From the sea to the table". The days are held until December 14, 2025, and are part of the 50th anniversary of the Squid Festival.

Salou has turned to organize a great Halloween party and success has been resounding. Salouween has once again demonstrated that it is the best Halloween party on the Costa Dorada, with activities for the whole family, a parade of monsters and sinister characters, and a party on the Jaume I promenade that invites you to enjoy with friends and family music, gastronomy and good atmosphere.

From October 24 to November 2, 2025, Salou is themed to offer the best Halloween celebration on the Costa Daurada: Salouween. SunClub recovers the historic hotel CalaVinya
At the end of the season, the local company SunClub has made the official opening ceremony of the hotel CalaVinya, the historic hotel built in 1962 by the architect Antonio Bonet Castallana, one of the most outstanding Catalan rationalist architects of the 20th century. The mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, and several councilors have participated in the opening act.

From 7 to 9 November, Salou Savi Wine Fair
On November 7, 8 and 9, 2025, Salou will host the first edition of Savi, the Wine Fair that wants to turn the capital of the Costa Dorada into the epicenter of the wine and gastronomic culture of the territory. The participation of wineries of the 7 designations of origin of wine in the territory as well as other wine regions and also abroad has been announced.
