The largest football tournament in southern Europe attracts 9,000 athletes to Salou
Once again, Salou hosts the Mare Nostrum Cup (MNC), considered the largest grassroots football tournament in southern Europe. This is demonstrated by the figures for the 2024 competition: 9,000 footballers, 464 men's and women's teams distributed in 10 categories, and 1,200 matches in two days.

The Mare Nostrum Esei Summer Cup hosts 200 soccer teams, 40 women's
From June 22 to 25, 2023, Salou will host the 12th edition of the Mare Nostrum Esei Summer Cup football tournament. 200 national and international teams of young people between the ages of 7 and 18 will participate, of which 40 are women's teams. This means the mobilization of some 4,000 people and between 10,000 and 12,000 overnight stays on the Costa Dorada.

Sabor Salou, the gastronomy fair on May 6, 7 and 8, 2022
The Sabor Salou gastronomic fair will take place on May 6, 7 and 8, 2022 on Paseo Jaume I. On its tenth birthday, it is complemented by the organization of the Sabor Salou Music Festival, with DJ performances every day at 8:00 p.m. 10 p.m. to attract a younger audience.
What to do on the beach in spring
The beach is a natural space that offers multiple possibilities for leisure and sports throughout the year, beyond the summer months. For this reason, the Salou City Council, through its Tourist Board, has launched the "Beach all year round" initiative to encourage citizens and visitors to enjoy the beach beyond the summer season and the holidays.
In May, Soccer World Cup for people with brain injury
From May 1 to 17, Salou will host the 7-a-side Football World Cup for people with brain injuries, both in the male (Male World Cup) and female (Female World Cup) categories. The participation of more than 500 people from 16 countries is expected and more than 50 games will be played.
The Mare Nostrum Easter Cup 2022 expects 6,000 participants from April 14 to 17
Between April 14 and 17, 2022, the Mare Nostrum Easter Cup soccer tournament expects to bring together 290 male and female soccer teams, aged 8 to 19, from various autonomous and international communities in Salou. In total, some 6,000 people, including athletes and their companions, will stay in the capital of the Costa Daurada.
Major winter festival 2022 for all ages without the Coso Blanco
From February 1 to 7, Salou will celebrate its Winter Festival with various activities especially designed for the little ones, although the program has the notable absence of the Coso Blanco, since the majority of the participating groups decided to suspend it due to the COVID situation.

Repsol and the Tarragona Province Federation of Hotel Business Associations (AEHT) have signed an agreement that strengthens collaboration between the two entities. According to the director of the Repsol Industrial Complex in Tarragona, Javier Sancho, the agreement highlights the necessary coexistence and collaboration between the two great engines of the Camp de Tarragona economy: tourism and the petrochemical industry.

When is the Coso Blanco celebrated this year 2022? This question so frequent among residents and visitors of Salou has a logical but sad answer. An overwhelming majority of the 24 collas or groups that participate in the Coso Blanco each year have decided to suspend the party in 2022, and not celebrate the confetti war for the second consecutive year.
