The plenary will debate a motion urging the State to make railway projects a reality
The municipal plenary next Monday, April 9, will debate and vote on a motion to be presented by the parties that make up the government of Salou, urging the State to fulfill its promises related to rail infrastructures.
Start-up of the lifeguard service on the beaches of Salou
The City Council and the rescue and rescue service concessionaire, Servitur Salvament SL, have held a meeting to specify the details of the 2018 season. The service will be initiated, at a minimal start, during this Easter
and will cover only the Levante beach.
The City Council will improve the asphalting of a score of streets in Salou
A project promoted by the City of Salou plans to improve the asphalting of a score of streets of the municipality, for which it will allocate 123,000 euros. In some roads the road surface will be completely renewed, in others, punctual repairs will be made in damaged sections.
The tourist offices of Salou renew their image
The appearance of the tourist offices of Salou will change in the coming months towards a more current and renewed corporate image. The remodeling work has begun in the Plaza Europa office and it is expected that the Jaume I Paseo tourist information point will be remodeled this autumn.
The Iberian site of La Cella may be visited this Easter
The Iberian town of La Cella, one of the most important heritage assets of the municipality of Salou, will open its doors next Easter to offer guided tours. The initiative is part of the Grup de Recerca Seminari de Protohistòria i Arqueologia of the URV and the IBER company; and has the support and collaboration of the City Council of Salou, as well as Arqueologia, Patromoni i Turisme SL., a company that was also part of the Tarragona University.
The leveling and improvement works of the Barenys street car park begin
The improvement works on Barenys street in Salou started this morning, one day later than expected due to the rain. The maintenance works in this area will level the terrain and will also act in the places that are used for parking between Via Aurèlia and Carles Roig streets.
Exposed in the TAS the photos of the contest of the Greater Celebration of this year
The images that have participated in the contest of the Festa Major 2018 can be contemplated in the TAS until March 8. It is an initiative of the Department of Culture and Festivities of the City of Salou. Some thirty works were presented to the contest that collect moments from the main festival from different points of view made with different techniques.
Finishing the renovation work for 79 light points on the carretera de la Costa
The works on improving the public lighting of the stretch of the road of the Coast between the roundabout of the Far and the Replanells highway have been put an end to the works that are being carried out since last month of December. Due to its antiquity, a considerable part of the columns had a state of advanced corrosion, and also the illumination provided by the set of fluorescents, which was insufficient for both pedestrians and drivers.
The burial of the electric line in the Faro area begins
Endesa will begin next week the works that are destined to burying the electricity overhead line of the Faro area, in Cap Salou. The performance will take place between the street of Punta del Cavall and the corner of the Faro road to the street of Roca Peixera.
Start improving the access to the natural environment of Cap de Salou
The rebuilding works of the green areas of the Cap de Salou, which include the improvement of the access passage and the public areas of this urban park, have been triggered. The works include an alternative path for people with disabilities in order to avoid the two existing stretches of scale with the intention of promoting their use.
Carnaval Xic's, the solidarity party against childhood cancer, is celebrated next Sunday
The fourth edition of Carnival Xic's, the great celebration of solidarity with childhood cancer in Salou, will be held next Sunday, February 11th, at the Salou Center Pavilion from 5 to 8 pm. It is a great celebration that is expected to bring together six hundred people.
About twenty local artists participate in the exhibition of the Festa Major
The Torre Vella de Salou opened its doors on Friday the traditional exhibition that is programmed annually coinciding with the Mayor's Winter Festival.
The sample composed entirely by local artists will remain open until next March 17.
A score of authors participate in the exhibition.
"Carretera y Manta" tries to attract young people through eight activities
The program of cultural and leisure activities "Carretera y Manta" starts in February announcing eight activities aimed at young people. The municipalities of Salou, Cambrils and Vila-seca participate in this project. This year the majority of activities will be included in snow excursions and leisure courses. The agenda will be complemented, the cultural outlet to San Sebastian, in September. In October, it is planned to visit the Manga Exhibition in Barcelona.
Salou invests € 63,444 to improve showers on the beaches of Ponent and Levante
The lack of adequate drainage has motivated the City Council to decide to invest in improving the platforms of showers on two beaches in the municipality. Specifically, they will be operated on five platforms of the beach of Poniente (4) and Levante (1). The total budget will be 63,444.29 euros and the ten-week execcution period.
Salou install an area for entertainment of dogs in Eduard Punset
The City Council has thought to create an area of entertainment for dogs, which will be located on Dr. Eduard Punset Avenue in Salou. For this, it will invest 18,150 euros in an area of 1,012 square meters that will be located in the garden areas of sector 5, the Emprius area, with the area occupied by the railway. It is an area close to the parks and surrounding garden areas of the avenue.
Salou hopes that the dismantling of the railway will energize the city
The railway network of the Mediterranean Corridor and the disappearance of the road that leaves the urban nucleus of Salou will give a new aspect to the city.
This dismantling, long awaited, will lead to the construction of a new avenue and that Civic Axis will give an important socio-economic boost to the municipality.
Both the mayor of Salou, as well as those of towns also affected by this new railway order, will ask Madrid to inform of the terms of realization of this project.
Salou will install in front of the Market the first recharging point for electric cars
The most central shopping area of Salou will offer a semi-fast recharge service for electric vehicles. It is the first point that is installed in the municipality and will allow the recharging of two vehicles simultaneously. The new loading point will be installed on Via Roma, in front of the Municipal Market.
Salou shows how it will expand into the "future" Sector 04
Salou projects an ambitious expansion of more than 44 hectares that will constitute a new commercial axis and will represent important economic improvements for the city. The mayor, Pere Granados, and the councillor for Land Management, Marc Montagut, have proudly presented how this expansion will be. It will be technically known Sector 04 and only the partial plan was shown.
Orange Company commits with Salou with an investment of 4.5 million euros in fiber and 4G
Montserrat Cereza, territorial director of Institutional Relations of the Orange telephone operator, has informed the consistory about the important investment her company plans to make in telecommunications infrastructure in Salou. The projects, both in optical fiber, as in 4G mobile and fixed telephony FTTH add up to a total of 4.5 million euros.
Esteve Coll exhibits his Christmas dioramas at the Torre Vella of Salou
The Town Hall of Salou programmed in its cultural agenda a unique nativity formed by dioramas by Esteve Coll, which are exhibited in the Torre Vella. The exhibition will be open until January 13 and is composed by seven creations of the Catalan author. The dioramas reflect traditional Christmas scenes, which he has made over 20 years.
