Salou has brought back an important part of its history with the restoration of the Font de la Duana, now once again located on carrer Barcelona. Originally inaugurated in 1828, the restored fountain is flowing again almost 200 years later, recovering a key element of the town’s heritage.

Salou City Council is taking a major step forward in housing with a clear vision for the future. Following the approval of its first Pla Local d'Habitatge last April, the municipality has begun work on an amendment to the POUM to guarantee the construction of 1,636 affordable homes, more than double the number identified as necessary in the local housing assessment.

The Salou Sport brand, launched by the Salou Municipal Tourism Board, has been established to consolidate the municipality as the leading sports destination in the Mediterranean. This strategic positioning is built upon three pillars: elite infrastructure, a privileged climate, and an extensive calendar featuring more than 200 annual sporting events. The objective: to deseasonalize tourism and promote sustainable economic activity 365 days a year.

The two offices of the Salou Municipal Tourism Board have renewed this 2025, and for the third consecutive year, the "Q" certification of Tourism Quality awarded by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTES). This rating verifies compliance with the international quality standard UNE-ISO 14785:2015 and coincides with the user satisfaction survey, which values the attention received at 9.22 out of 10.
